My name is Michael, and I’m about to start an exciting new chapter with my wife-to-be. We’re getting married on January 31, 2026, and I’ve just purchased a home where we’ll begin our life together. As a wheelchair user, it’s essential that our new home is accessible and safe for both of us from the very start. Due to time constraints, it's not possible to pursue options like vocational rehab paying for the modifications. Those options could take months, and I need to be able to use my house on move-in. Each and every donation here truly makes a difference.
Baseline modifications, which will total $11,000, include widening the door to the master bedroom's bathroom, replacing the cabinet sink with a roll-under, wheelchair-friendly sink, installing grab rails by the toilet, redoing some aged plumbing, and replacing the bathtub with a roll-in shower equipped with grab rails. We also need to build a ramp at the entrance so I can come and go independently.
These changes are crucial for my independence and our comfort as we begin our married life. I’m reaching out to friends, family, and anyone who believes in the importance of accessibility. Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser—will help us create a safe, welcoming home in time for our wedding. Thank you for being part of our journey and helping us build a future together.
God bless you for your generosity.
