We're putting on a block party for our neighborhood — the loop of Kitner, Shady, and Oviatt off Olde Eight in Northfield — on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

The party itself is potluck with grills going. Bring a dish, bring a pack of burgers or hotdogs to share. But there's a few extras we want to cover and they cost actual money. We're funding them in priority order — and tier 1 has to fund or the party doesn't happen as planned.

FIRST — Porta potty ($350) — MUST HAVE

Strongly recommended by the neighbors who've thrown these before, so nobody has to ask to use someone's bathroom. Handicap-accessible unit + delivery + tax.

SECOND — The kegs ($380)

Two domestic half-barrels from Heidelberg + cups + ice + tap rental. Unlocks once the porta is paid for.

THIRD — Make it even better (every dollar past $730)

More dogs and burgers for the grills, a third keg (maybe a craft one), condiments, better cups, kids' drinks, you name it. Every penny gets spent on the party.

⚠️ DEADLINE: July 12, 2026

RSVP and chip in by July 12 so we have time to prep. If tier 1 ($350) doesn't fund by July 12, every contribution gets refunded through GoFundMe and we scale back the plan.

We'll post the final total and where every dollar went on the neighborhood Facebook group after the party.
