Hey everyone,
I’m Charlie, and I’m 13 years old. I’ve been obsessed with making films since I was around 5. Back then, I’d run around with a camera making silly videos just to get some laughs. As I’ve grown up, my skills have gotten way better, and film-making has become my passion. My mum even put together a funny video on her Instagram showing some of my wild adventures over the years.
Next year, I’m starting my GCSEs, and I want to dive deep into film-making. My friends and I have been working on a thriller-horror film called ‘The Architect’ for the past four months. I really think it could turn out amazing if we had the right gear. But here’s the hitch: we’re struggling to raise the money for all the equipment we need.
Here’s what we’re hoping to get:
- **A decent camera**: To capture all the chilling and cool moments.
- **A tripod or stabilizer**: To keep the shots smooth and professional.
- **Portable lights**: To create that eerie, atmospheric look.
- **Power banks**: So our gear doesn’t die in the middle of filming.
- **Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro**: Essential for editing and making the film look fantastic.
- **A proper computer**: My current Chromebook just can’t handle the editing demands.
I know it’s a lot to ask, but I’m really passionate about making this film. And I’ve got a plan: after we finish the film, we’ll host a premiere and sell tickets. All the proceeds will go to ‘Help the Homeless,’ a charity that means a lot to me. There are kids out there who don’t even have a home, let alone access to the internet to watch this film. It breaks my heart to think about people without food or a warm bed. I want to do everything I can to make a difference.
Thanks so much for reading!
Charlie
