Info here!
Recently, I received an invitation to attend an interdisciplinary conference in London, UK. Scheduled for February 2025, this conference is held by an international organization called ARC (the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship) which I’ve followed passionately since its inception in 2023. ARC’s mission and work have inspired me deeply, and attending this conference is a unique opportunity to learn, network, and advance in my professional goals.
While I’m thrilled about this opportunity, the financial challenge has been daunting. After carefully calculating expenses, I found the total cost to be approximately $3,460. This includes a £1,500 entrance fee (about $1,860), $750 for accommodation and food, and $850 for a round-trip flight.
Thankfully, ARC offered me a discounted entry ticket at just 30% of the original fee, and with support from my university’s business association, I was able to fully fund this reduced cost. However, that still leaves $1,250 for me to raise to cover most of the remaining expenses of airfare and accommodation, and as a student, quickly coming up with this money has been rather difficult.
That’s why I’m turning to you via GoFundMe. Your support can help me bridge this financial gap and make this professional and educational experience a reality. In the following text below, I’ve shared some important things you’d probably want to know—the essence of ARC’s mission with a description of their conference, the significance this trip has for my personal career goals, and how I plan to apply what I learn to my future endeavors.
Hopefully, this gives you a clear understanding of why this fundraiser matters to me and how your support would contribute to my personal and professional growth. Your help is deeply appreciated.
Thank you!
ARC & Conference Description:
The Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) is an international organization that addresses relevant social, economic, and philosophical questions. Their overarching goal is to develop a "vision for a better world where empowered citizens take responsibility and work together to bring flourishing and prosperity to their families, communities, and nations."
Inspired by the leadership principles outlined in Exodus 18:21-22, Canadian clinical psychologist and author Dr. Jordan Peterson initiated the groundwork for ARC during his global book tour in 2021 and 2022. During this time, he connected with a rich network of politicians, economists, scholars, and religious thinkers. In 2023, this network became ARC’s official advisory board, which has since been actively working to formulate strategies for a more just and prosperous future.
To expand this mission, ARC opened its doors to participants from around the globe, inviting them to contribute to this shared vision. The inaugural conference, held in 2023, brought together 1,500 delegates from 71 nations. Attendees included international business leaders, politicians, investors, scholars, educators, students, and others. Over the course of three days, these delegates participated in discussions, attended lectures, and formed strategic partnerships to advance ARC’s goals. Most importantly, they left the conference equipped with ideas and strategies, which they have since applied in their respective industries and countries.
In sum, what sets ARC’s conferences apart from other conferences is the unique blend of strong research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the presence of global leaders in politics, economics, psychology, education, and religion. It’s a platform where visionary ideas meet practical strategies, where meaningful dialogue and action work together toward a brighter future.
Why This Conference is Important to me:
I have been following ARC’s work since its inception, and I was familiar with Dr. Jordan Peterson’s contributions to psychology long before that. What ARC has achieved resonates deeply with my career aspirations: conducting interdisciplinary research and using it to improve educational, political, and social systems that are vital to the future development of my country. Attending their conference is a unique opportunity to gain new insights that align with my goals and to make meaningful progress toward making change in my country.
Additionally, this trip would be helpful for my future graduate-level studies. I recently applied to a master’s program in clinical psychology at Cambridge and am in the process of applying to several other UK universities. Many of these schools conduct interviews in February, which coincides with the ARC conference schedule. Attending the conference would not only allow me to connect with ARC’s network, learn from their research, and engage with their team but also provide an invaluable opportunity to potentially attend my graduate school interviews in person since the conference is held in London. Meeting interviewers face-to-face would enhance tone, communication, and first impressions, all of which are crucial for competitive graduate programs.
What I Aim to Gain from This Experience and How I Plan to Utilize it:
I aim to connect with a network of like-minded, ambitious, and capable individuals who are committed toward making meaningful changes in the modern global social fabric. These kinds of connections can significantly strengthen my efforts to contribute to Montenegro’s political, educational, and spiritual development down the road, which is exactly what I want to do in the future.
Over the past year, I took my first step in this direction by co-founding Montenegro’s first online tutoring platform. Attending ARC would provide insights into how large-scale platforms are initiated and sustained, equipping me with knowledge on how to steer my tutoring company in the right direction for making the best possible impact on the academic community.
In addition to this, ARC also includes panels for young adults and students, which presents a unique opportunity to meet and collaborate with peers from around the world who share similar values and aspirations with me.
Lastly, this year’s conference at ARC places special emphasis on Christianity and psychology—two fields that deeply resonate with my personal and academic pursuits. This kind of focus aligns perfectly with my interests, and promises to deliver rich information and perspectives that are important for my growth and future as an interdisciplinary scholar.
Thank you for reading through! Attending this conference trult is the most logical and meaningful next step in advancing my academic and professional journey. Please consider supporting this trip to help make this experience possible—your generosity will have a lasting impact on my journey and the causes I hope to contribute to. Thanks!
