My name is Claire and I am fundraising for the Newell Family so that they can make some beautiful memories for there Daughter Abigail in her final weeks with her siblings and family members.

Abigail has acute lymphoblastic leukaemia because of her comorbidities.

She is unable to have curative treatment. Her Family have opted for her to have palliative chemotherapy to hopefully give her a bit more quality time.

Abigail has been unwell for the past three months but because she has been unable to indicate the cause of her illness. She has been undergoing investigations which eventually last Tuesday ( 6th October 2026) her parents Tracey and Ian were given the devastating news about their beautiful Daughter.

The oncologists and haematologist have been exemplary and have looked for the best treatment options for Abigail.

Abigail is currently having Vin Christie and high-dose steroids as a treatment plan. They are uncertain if this will buy much time but they are hoping to make some lovely memories with Abigail over the next few weeks, with their other children and themselves.

Abigail has a primary diagnosis of spina bifida and hydro Cath is also Lennox gas stop syndrome. Her Epilepsy has been a problem for her whole life and the treatment is making the Epilepsy wild.

The Family will be under the palliative care team from the Norfolk Hospice Each they are based in Norwich, she will have an oncologist at Kings Lynn and also a haematologist at Addenbrookes. Abigails Parents Tracey and Ian will for the foreseeable future be travelling to Addenbrookes at least weekly for chemotherapy and having one day in Queen Elizabeth for further treatments. Obviously Abigail‘s blood count are extremely low and she is neutropenic so she is open to any infection so if she spikes the temperature she then has to go in for IV antibiotics immediately. Tracey and Ian are very fortunate that their Adult children at this time are able to look after our other young people who need 24 hour Care.
