Help Make Laska Feel Better

Dear Friends and Animal Lovers,

If a dog is a man's best friend, then my cat, Laska, is truly my soulmate. Recently, my 3-year-old tabby Laska was admitted to the emergency room because she stopped eating. As a chronic worrywart, I immediately knew this was serious. After days of unsuccessful attempts to get her to eat, I took her to the vet. Based on her bloodwork, they advised immediate care at the nearest emergency hospital if her condition persisted.

With a heavy heart, I am reaching out to you for support in getting Laska the urgent medical care she needs. Laska is more than a pet; she's family. Witnessing a pet in pain is a heartbreaking experience that no pet owner should ever endure. She's the sweetest girl, and if I could, I would bear her pain in a heartbeat.

Laska's initial diagnosis shows high calcium levels and concerning ALT and ALP levels related to her liver. The vets are investigating further with radiographs and ultrasounds to understand what's affecting her. Currently, she's receiving care with a nasogastric feeding tube for a liquid diet, medications to manage the stress of tests, fluids to prevent dehydration, and regular bloodwork to monitor her condition.

The costs for Laska's treatment have escalated quickly, and I'm struggling to cover these expenses alone, despite my reluctance to ask for help from family and friends. I've already paid a 75% deposit on the lower end of the initial costs, but Laska needs to stay in the hospital for more days of intensive care. We're facing upwards of $10,000 in combined treatments. I'm willing to dip into savings, work extra shifts, and do whatever it takes, but any donations would make an immense difference for Laska.
