Hello! My name is Isaac Spettel, and I am a second-year student at DePaul University. Since I was really young, going to Japan has always been a dream of mine. Therefore, when I arrived at DePaul, I researched study abroad programs extensively! Recently, I was informed of a study abroad program in Japan that offered a film program, which is what I am studying in school. I applied to the program in hopes of making my dream come true, and I was accepted into this incredible opportunity: Tokyo: Study at Temple University Japan (TUJ) - Winter-Spring Terms, 2026. After I got accepted, I informed my family immediately; however, soon after, I learned about the incredible price point of this experience. The program's financial commitment consists of an immense program fee plus the additional tuition, airfare fees, and cost of living in Japan. Even with the amazing love and support from my family and the scholarships I've applied for, the cost of this journey is something I can unfortunately not afford. This opportunity will provide me with a ton of new knowledge about film and Japanese culture, while also building my skills in the Japanese language.
