Help Stephanie make home accessible after amputation.

Have you ever had a moment in your life that changed everything? That moment for me was 2 days before Thanksgiving. My foot was crushed a few years ago and, because of the severity of the injury, I have been in a boot since then. I went to the hospital before Thanksgiving, thinking they were going to do minor surgery to remove a blister on the bottom of my foot and was told to save my life, they would have to amputate my foot.

We were not prepared for this.

It will be 6 months before I can get a prosthetic because it is necessary to build up my strength and I still have more surgery ahead of me.

My home is not wheelchair accessible. I need ramps to get in and out of both the front and back doors. We need handicap railings and a high bed railing.

We do not have a vehicle that I can get in and out of to go to my doctor's appointments and need to purchase one.

Before this happened, I worked full-time as a caregiver. I not only cared for my client but also for Tim, my husband, who has MS and metal poisoning from his time in the military, and also his dad who has dementia. I also have a 16-year-old son who we care for.

We are in a financial hardship due to all of these issues and really need help.
