Logline: Two ex-lovers navigate the end of their relationship through different universes, exploring the trials and tribulations of love as they realize they might still be meant for each other.

EZZIE & NIX is a story for…
the hopeless lovers that need a touch of realism...
the heartbroken that need to remember feeling love...
and the audience that wants to fall in love, whether with a movie, a relationship, or the world around them, all over again.

EZZIE & NIX is a story for all of the chance encounters, lingering lovers, and possible parallel romances you haven’t experienced yet.

MISSION STATEMENT

EZZIE & NIX is more than just a portrait of a heart-wrenching romance, it’s a look into the world of modern dating. The lack of compassion and commitment in today’s world creates feelings of loneliness and hopelessness for many, one I know too well.

Whether EZZIE & NIX is a movie that reaches for the hearts of the hopeless romantics or the hopeless people of today, it’s a film that audiences can take in and heal alongside.

Our film is a constant reminder that something bigger: a God, the universe, or simply the stars, is leading us down a winding path. The people that we meet along the way, contrary to popular belief, are meant to be… just maybe not meant to always last forever.

PART 1 - STORY

At the brink of their breakup, two young lovers, Esme and Phoenix, are pulled apart by their conflicting desires; her longing to explore the world and his belief in finding meaning where they already are.

As they separate, their relationship unfolds across parallel timelines, revealing alternate versions of how they meet, fall in love, and lose each other. Through fleeting moments of intimacy, missed encounters, and bittersweet reunions, they begin to question whether love alone is enough to keep them together.

Ultimately, Esme and Phoenix must confront whether they are truly meant to be, or simply two people who will always find and lose each other across infinite worlds.

PART 2 - WHY EZZIE & NIX

Five years ago, my first love said four final words to me: “I’ll see you later.” Although I can’t remember the expression on his face or inflection in his voice, twenty-year-old me still wonders what could’ve happened if we saw each other one more time, got one more day, or had one last chance.

My film, EZZIE & NIX, is a romantic-drama that introduces love to the multiverse, tracing the footprints left behind in all of my past relationships. Our characters, Esme and Phoenix, seem to keep bumping into eachother… in every universe. It might be fate, but does that mean they’re meant to be?

EZZIE & NIX explores the endless amounts of love two people can have for each other, clings onto the heartbreak left in its place, and confronts the connection we pretend to forget about. It’s a project that highlights a love that lingers much longer than the last words you say to someone, at least, the last words in this universe.

Because sometimes, we just want to love and begin again.

PART 3 - CHARACTERS

Phoenix (21) a romantic, grounded observer who finds beauty and meaning in the present, believing that love is something to be nurtured rather than chased elsewhere. Phoenix’s line between loving Esme and believing in fate blurs the moment he met her at a crowded party in college. Usually, he’s grounded, but as an avid collector, he adopts her whimsical and far-fetched views of something beyond them. He thinks that the universe is rooting for them, and if not their universe, then maybe another one. But where will that universe, as divine as he thinks it is, lead them?

Esme (21) a restless, introspective dreamer who longs to escape her familiar world in search of a life that feels bigger, even at the cost of love. Esme’s head is in the sky, literally. She can’t stand the city she’s in, the world she has yet to see, and sometimes even the boy she loves. Instead, she looks up at the stars, wondering where she would be if something was different. She keeps waiting for a change and a new chance, writing up these fantasies of a new life, but does her idealistic universe really exist or did she just lose the love of her life?

PART 4 - WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Most feature films cost millions of dollars and take years to produce, leaving countless stories untold. We deeply believe in the heart of Ezzie & Nix and the importance of bringing this story to life. That’s why our team is pursuing a new approach to feature filmmaking, one that challenges and redefines how stories are made independently and permissionlessly today. But to make it happen, we still need your support.

We’ve budgeted this feature film at $50K, an approach that pushes the limits of what’s typically achievable. With my own personal savings put in, we are looking to raise at least $45,000.

Every dollar counts!

With your generous donations, we'll also be able to pay for necessary camera rentals, location fees, production design, and also have enough for post-production, festival submission fees, and marketing.

We've got the best producers on the job making sure every cent is going to the right place!

PART 5 - VISUAL STYLE and LOOK BOOK

EZZIE & NIX embraces a warm, intimate visual style built around close proximity. Impressionistic, intentional framing reflects the different universes. Fluid, intimate camera movements and frequent closeups allow for emotion to surface without dialogue. The cool city skyline night elevates the emotions.
