Eric Schneider: A man who has constantly sacrificed himself and his well-being for the sake of others. One who will literally take the shirt off his back to clothe a family member or friend. The only thing potentially bigger than his heart is his pride. *Now, he needs our help…*
Since Wednesday, November 28th, Eric has been hospitalized at St Lukes for multiple reoccurring seizures. The cause of these seizures is unknown at this time and doctors are continuing to run tests/scans of the brain to try diagnose the reason behind the seizures. Currently, he has to wear an eye-patch over his left eye to block-out the light. In true Schneider fashion, *he’s doing his best to stay positive and his sense of humor holds strong .
Its been speculated one reason behind the seizures is the overall oral health of Eric. He has been coping with dental issues for over 10 years, which often hurt so bad he is unable to go to work, let alone continue with daily life. In the last four years, he eliminated nearly all-solid foods from his diet. A vicious cycle of infections and other health issues are directly tied to his oral health.
Attempts have been made to remedy this situation, but lack of insurance and overall income has made it a slow process. Roughly half of Eric’s teeth have already been extracted and may need to have the rest of his teeth pulled (along with potential denture work). Anyone who has had any major dental issues know how disabling the pain and discomfort can be on one’s life, but the severity of Eric’s oral issues lives in a realm most cannot fathom.
Whether or not the seizures and oral-health issues are correlated, Eric is in a tough-spot and needs the help of many to get through these trying times. Money raised through this gofundme will be applied directly to the health/recovery of his current health issues and ailments. Also, *if anyone knows a dentist willing to help, that would be amazing!!*
