Help make Emma's road to recovery easier

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Emma and I am a 40 year old mother of two. Recently I was diagnosed with DCIS which is a form of Breast Cancer. On the 7th I had the 9cm lump removed, a mastectomy and an implant fitted all in one of my breasts. Due to this I have to be off work for some time in order to heal properly. Prior to my surgery, my breasts were both of a larger size than average, however, since one was operated on the only implant available to me was still considerably smaller than my other breast. As I was diagnosed at a younger age I have the chance of full recovery and to move on from this cary time of being unwell and being unable to live life normally.
Unfortunately, the disproportion of my breast sizes is greatly affecting me. I feel the considerable difference is a constant reminder and is hindering my ability to heal mentally as well as physically. I need to have breast reduction surgery on my other breast however there is a waitlist. I do feel it is crucial to my recovery from this horrible experience and will allow me to regain my confidence and get back to my regular life.

Thank you for reading my story, me and my family greatly appreciate it. Please remember to regularly check yourselves as no one ever expects it to happen to them.
