For those who don’t know, a few weeks ago my baby boy Apollo was shot in my neighborhood. Thankfully, I live right down the street of an emergency vet and was able to get him there in time. After a few days of him receiving care he was discharged home. He couldn’t use one of his legs, which they said at the time may never recover and had some difficulty peeing, but he was alive and home.
These past few weeks Apollo had been doing great! That leg they said that might not ever work? Yeah he was running on it! And he was back to being the crazy dog I’ve always loved.
Unfortunately, over the past few days I had noticed Apollo had been struggling more and more, so I brought him back into the ER. I have now learned that a piece of the bullet had made its way to the base of his bladder causing urine to build up. His kidneys, ureters, and bladder are extremely swollen and he needs emergency surgery or will not survive.
I honestly feel embarrassed even asking anyone for help, but after all the previous medical bills from the original incident, I can’t do this alone. I can’t let my baby boy die from something that was in no way his fault. He wasn’t on anyone’s property, he wasn’t messing with anyone. I know it’s a lot of money and some people might think I’m crazy for actually considering spending that on a dog, but if you don’t understand, then you don’t understand my love for Apollo. I appreciate any and all contributions and am more than willing to provide documentation of care provided.
