Help Make Amethyst Boatworks A Reality

Hi, I'm Matt Johnson! In 2021, I found myself in a place where I needed a career change. I wanted a career that allows me to be creative, use my hands, meet people, include my love of boating, and feel fulfilled. After searching, I found the Great Lakes Boat Building School in Cedarville, Michigan.

In September 2022, I moved to Michigan to attend school. In August of 2023, I graduated the Comprehensive Boat Building Program and became a qualified boatwright.

Now that I'm back home in Duluth, Minnesota, I am ready to begin the next chapter. Amethyst Boatworks is currently a dream on paper and I want to make it a reality.

Currently, I'm in the process of developing my business plan and establishing my workspace. However, I need some help with the initial start-up costs such as a place to establish a shop and tools to create. My first productions will be wooden paddles and oars, other small scale wood products, and small watercraft.
