I don’t usually ask for help, but this year I’m choosing to step outside my comfort zone and try something new. It has been my lifelong dream to travel to Italy—my family’s homeland—and experience the history, beauty, and culture I’ve always felt connected to but never had the chance to see in person.

I’ve been given an incredible opportunity not only to visit Italy, but to sing there with my chorus as part of a festival. This is truly a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience for me. We will sing in a late afternoon Mass in one of Rome’s four Major Basilicas and the Festival Finale Concert in the Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri!

While there, I’ll be able to explore historic sites like the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Not to mention all the incredible food and wine!

The past few years have been challenging for me, and this opportunity feels like a bright, meaningful moment I don’t want to let pass by. It’s something I know I would regret not pursuing.
