HELP MAKE A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF ALGAR, ANDALUCIA

I’m Maud, a London-born, Madrid-based filmmaker.

This summer, I’m making a documentary, and I need your help (AKA cash hehe).

The film -

The documentary shines a light on an Andalucian town called Algar, whose residents are seeking UNESCO world heritage status for one of its most treasured customs: taking out a chair on hot summer nights and chatting al fresco with your neighbours. Getting UNESCO status means formal recognition of the tradition's importance, which locals hope will help to revive this practice among young people and give it the cultural reputation it deserves.

We’ll interview the locals and showcase the mission that they’ve been on for the past three years, amplifying their incredible story and the importance of this age-old custom that must be protected. We're already in contact with the mayor and the locals to make this happen with their generous collaboration.

The cash

I would only ask for if it was absolutely necessary. While some of my own money will be going into this, I cannot pay for the whole project.

It’s absolutely crucial to me that I can pay my small but brilliant team for their expertise and efforts. We’re too used to creativity being free. That’s why my priority is crew wages.

AYUDA A REALIZAR UN DOCUMENTAL SOBRE EL PUEBLO DE ALGAR, ANDALUCÍA

Soy Maud, una cineasta nacida en Londres y residente en Madrid.

Este verano voy a rodar un documental y necesito tu ayuda .

La película

El documental se centrará en un pueblo andaluz llamado Algar, cuyos habitantes quieren que la UNESCO lo declare Patrimonio de la Humanidad para proteger una de sus costumbres más preciadas: sentarse en una silla en las calurosas noches de verano y charlar al aire libre con los vecinos. Con ello, esperan recuperar esta tradición entre los jóvenes y darle el status que se merece.

En colaboración con el alcalde de la ciudad, con quien ya estamos en contacto, y los ciudadanos, contaremos su historia y amplificaremos su misión al mundo.

El dinero

Sólo lo pediría si fuera absolutamente necesario. Aunque invertiré parte de mi dinero, no puedo pagar todo el proyecto.

Para mí es absolutamente crucial poder pagar a mi pequeño pero brillante equipo por su experiencia y sus esfuerzos. Estamos demasiado acostumbrados a que la creatividad sea gratis. Por eso mi prioridad son los sueldos del equipo.
