Hello, my name is Rylee and I’m donating for my older sister Makayla who has been battling endometriosis for longer than she has lived without it (roughly 11 years). In 2017 she got a surgery in aim to remove it but it came back and has been tormenting her. She and her boyfriend live with me and our parents, and wants to be able to afford her own place so she can pursue an artistic career but is held back by the unpredictable episodes preventing any job ability. Her doctor believes a spot was possibly missed in the last surgery, so we are doing it again to make her life the best it can be. We live in California and her doctor now works in Colorado. He is our choice because many doctors still don’t fully understand the sickness and send her home without answers whereas he has and can help her both physically and mentally. Our family does not have comfortable money, and that worries me. My parents have been taking out loans and shuffling money around to come up with the money for both travel and overall surgery. I want my sister to live freely and not in pain, and for my parents to not stress over having enough for rent and general needs. All proceeds will be received by my mom, Bonnie, as she is paying the majority for what we can scarcely cover out of pocket.
