Help Makala Achieve Her Dream: Swimming the North Channel!
Donation protected

Makala has taken on one of the most challenging and awe-inspiring swims in the world—the North Channel between Northern Ireland and Scotland. Swimming in icy cold waters with unpredictable weather, she is about to face one of the toughest endurance challenges out there. This is a monumental achievement for anyone, and she’s determined to make it happen!
Her swim window is now scheduled for 31stAug–5thSept 2025—a narrow timeframe when tides and weather conditions may allow the crossing to take place.
But, as you can imagine, it comes with a significant financial burden. The expenses associated with the swim are substantial, and we’re asking for your support to help her achieve this dream.
We are aiming to raise £4,000 to help cover Makala’s immediate fees—though the total cost will be higher.
Here’s how the funds will be used:
* Boat Rental and Crew Fees: A support boat and crew are required to accompany Makala during the swim. This is the largest cost and is crucial for her safety and success.
* Travel Expenses: The swim requires travel to Northern Ireland and home.
* Insurance: Specialised insurance is necessary for such a high-risk swim.
* Accommodation: There are costs for both pre-swim preparations and post-swim recovery.
We know Makala has the heart and dedication to make it across this incredible stretch of water, but with your help, we can alleviate the financial pressure and allow her to focus on training and the swim itself.
How You Can Help:
* Donate: Any amount you can contribute will make a huge difference. If we’re fortunate enough to raise more than our target, any additional funds will go directly towards supporting Makala with future challenges and the next steps on this journey.
* Share: Please spread the word about this campaign to help us reach as many people as possible!
* Words of Encouragement: A simple message of support goes a long way and means the world to Makala as she takes on this extraordinary challenge.
Thank you so much for supporting Makala. Your generosity is not just a financial gift but an incredible source of motivation for her on this journey.
