I’m Majorie. On October 28th, Hurricane Melissa tore through Western Jamaica, leaving behind unimaginable destruction. A storm unlike anything we’ve ever seen. My family and our community in Westmoreland are now facing the heartbreaking aftermath. Homes destroyed, roads impassable, and entire neighbourhoods cut off from the world. We haven’t been able to reach everyone yet, and the full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
May family’s home suffered extensive damage: the roof was torn apart, water flooded several rooms, and most belongings destroyed. Like so many others, our community is struggling to recover in the aftermath with limited access to communication, supplies, and safe shelter.
All funds will be used to help our family and neighbours rebuild and recover. Donations will go directly toward:
• Food, water, and essential supplies
• Emergency housing and home repairs
• Fuel to restore temporary power and transportation
• Helping others in our community who are facing the same hardships
Every contribution, no matter the size, make a significant difference. If you’re unable to give, please share. Together with God we shall overcome.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, generosity, and prayers during this tremendously difficult time.
