Hello, my name is Anna, and this beautiful dog you see here is my 2-year-old German Shepherd, Major. I adopted Major when he was just 8 weeks old, and he has been with me and my fiancé, Greg, ever since. Major turns 3 in August. He’s a young, happy, funny, outgoing dog with a lot of life ahead of him.

Last weekend, out of nowhere, Major’s right leg gave out suddenly, and he was dragging it around behind him with no control. My fiancé and I took Major to the 24-hour vet where we got some answers. The veterinarian diagnosed Major with IVDD. IVDD is Intervertebral Disc Disease. The vet informed us that Major has a slipped disc in his spine, due to genetics, and it is putting pressure on his nerves, causing extreme pain, and causing his right leg to give out.

We love our boy so much; he’s like a child to us, and we hate to see him not able to walk or reach his full potential. We were referred to a specialist that can fix Major’s slipped disc. The surgery will cost around $10,000. We are asking all friends, family, and even strangers to donate. It does not have to be a lot, but anything helps. I hate to see my baby boy like this.
