Help Major Replace his Stolen Truck
Major Bryant is a good guy, Bad stuff happens to good people. While he was hard at work with FEMA Vaccinating strangers, someone stole his truck!
Maior is a hard working trail crew leader in the Sierra Nevada, and a Certified EMT. He works hard to do the right thing, and to improve the visitor’s experience of our National Park. Like everyone else on the planet, his world was rocked by the turmoil, uncertainty and helplessness of Covid. So when the vaccine effort started to ramp up, he jumped at the opportunity to go to Oakland for a few weeks to Vaccinate hundreds of people from all walks of life at the Colosseum. I, his fiancé, went to visit him. As my vehicle was out of commission, Major lent me his Beloved Toyota Tacoma to drive down to the Amtrak Train Station. We figured leaving it in the locked lot in Hanford was safer than parking it in Oakland. Sorry Oakland, we were wrong. Upon arriving back in Hanford, I got off the train and it was just Gone. Someone had stolen his truck!
As we ramp up for another season in the backcountry we are sorely feeling the loss of the Tacoma. With many miles to run, and lots of gear to move around, we have started to accept that the vehicle will not be found. The liability insurance he carried on it will not replace it. And we are in fact, down a vehicle. We are starting to think about the next move.
This time of year we would normally be throwing a great big party for Majors Birthday. Gathering with our friends to Celebrate the return of friends, spring in the foothills and another year for Major. This year major is flying back to New York to finally see his mom and sister after a year of separation. So we will have to get back to BBQs next year.
So if you feel like helping out, or giving a gift for Major’s Birthday, please think about giving a little to this fund, or sharing it with anyone who might. We feel very fortunate to be healthy, happy and safe. We know that this little hiccupis pretty minor on the scale of suffering that has touched many live this year. So thanks for any help you can give.
Be Kind.
Be Truthful
Big Love
