Hi, My name is Karen Carr & Maiya is my girls, Violet & Peppermint, half sister. Maiya holds a special place in my heart. This week, Maiya became suddenly very sick. After treating a leg wound, that became infected, Maiya took a sudden turn for the worse & was struggling to breathe & stand. The ER vet determined Maiya was septic, but couldn’t find the source. She was finally diagnosed with Closed Pyometra & was stable enough to have surgery. Maiya is recovering now, with many drains & recovery is just beginning. Not too mention future care & testing to help figure out the why & keep Maiya strong & healthy. As we all know, vet bills can be exorbitant & Maiya’s are.
