My name is Lauren and my soul dog, Maisy, recently had bowel obstruction surgery. Her surgery was expensive (as expected), but now she’s having some complications. Right now she is home being treated with a few medications and special diet.

Our background - Maisy was in a shelter when she was a puppy after being found with her litter. My ex and I went to look at dogs and that’s when we found Maisy. I remember seeing her shake in his arms, but when she was handed to me she stopped instantly and settled in my arms. From that day forward she has been my protector and best friend. She has unfortunately seen what I’ve gone through and that’s why she’s protective. She was also abused for a short time which unfortunately still affects her even with lots of training.

Maisy is the best girl and I can’t imagine my life without her. We’ve had so many downs compared to ups and every time things are going well, something like this happens. She’s always been healthy so I didn’t have insurance for her. I work full time in the pediatric medical field and have a couple side jobs which aren’t cutting it. I hate asking for help.
