Our family is reaching out during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. Maisy is a bright, kind, and deeply loved young person who is bravely battling anorexia, a serious and life-threatening eating disorder. After a recent relapse, she required hospitalization and is currently receiving inpatient medical care at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, where she has been since December 18, 2025. Maisy’s medical and treatment team has determined that once she is medically stable, she will need to transition directly into residential treatment that can support a patient requiring tube feeding and a higher level of medical and therapeutic care. This level of care is essential to stabilize her health and support long-term recovery.
Unfortunately, there is no residential eating disorder treatment facility in Oregon equipped to provide the level of care Maisy needs. As a result, her treatment will need to take place out of state. After speaking with her care team, we have also learned that arranging and getting Maisy to residential treatment will need to be completely handled by our family. This includes transportation, travel coordination, and related expenses, many of which are not covered by insurance. We are raising funds to help cover residential eating disorder treatment, medical and psychiatric care, therapy and nutritional support, transportation and costs related to getting Maisy to treatment, and ongoing recovery-related medical costs.
Maisy did not choose this illness, but she is choosing recovery and showing incredible strength and courage every day. Any donation, no matter the size, will help ease the financial strain on our family and allow us to focus fully on supporting Maisy’s healing and well-being. If you are unable to donate, sharing this page or keeping Maisy in your thoughts means more than we can express. We are deeply grateful for the love, compassion, and support surrounding our family during this time. With heartfelt thanks, The Talerico Family.
