Help Maintain Health Coverage for Cancer Fight

In December of 2023, after going to the ER for back pain, Alix received news she never expected to hear - she had cancer at only 37. She celebrated Christmas with her family in fear as they waited for the final official diagnosis. Two days later, they had the full picture - Alix has metastatic (stage 4) breast cancer. The cancer has spread throughout her body to various lymph nodes and bones, causing multiple spinal fractures and lots of pain.

Alix’s treatment journey has gone through several phases, but as of early 2025 the disease had started to progress. This led to Alix’s medical team deciding it was time to start chemotherapy. In order to undergo this treatment, Alix had no choice but to leave work again. While so far she’s been able to weather the financial burden of this disease pretty well, she’s now facing some very heavy bills.

In order to keep her health insurance - which is absolutely vital - Alix will need to pay for it outright from her employer, which is a huge cost that was not anticipated. Alix hopes things can stabilize so she can get back to work in a few months, but right now she needs to focus on treatment and healing.
