Maia has been bravely struggling with MS and Fibromyalgia for years, now.
She is in near constant pain and has very little energy. Challenges with cognitive
functioning and severe depression are
well known outcomes of both of these
conditions. Due to the Pandemic, Maia
has been without a job and isolated,
alone in her apartment without any
positive physical connections.
Maia was recently given a sweet
miniature poodle that she named,
Panda. Maia and Panda formed a near
instant loving bond. Having Panda come
into her life has been such a blessing for Maia. Panda has been such a boon to
Maia’s emotional well being...Giving her
love and contact with another living
creature.
Unfortunately, Panda was 6 months old and totally untrained when Maia got
her. Panda was not even house broken. Maia has valiantly tried to train Panda,
but Maia lacks the stamina to turn Panda into a reliable support companion.
Panda has to wear a diaper in the house
and can not be trusted off leash outside. Panda is sweet and cute and playful.
Panda has brought so much joy into
Maia’s life, but also stress. Stress is bad
for Maia’s MS, so we need to reduce her
stress while increasing her joy with
Panda. It seems that in depth
professional training will accomplish
both of these goals.
Maia has identified a local professional dog training academy in the Portland
area where Panda can go for a three
week skill building course. They use only
positive training methods and Panda will return home, house broken and with the skills and confidence to be a successful
support dog for Maia.
Please help if you can. This is a very
important project that will greatly
improve Maia’s health and well-being for the next 10 to 15 years.
Thank you so much for your time and
for considering a donation! All money
will go directly to Maia for the purpose of training her sweet companion,
Panda. ❤️
