My dear friend Mahmoud is fighting to keep his family alive in Gaza. The war has taken everything from him — his home, his livelihood, and lately his brother, who was killed in an israeli bombing. Mahmoud now cares not only for his wife, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, and their two children, but also for his brother’s children and other young relatives who have been left with no one else to turn to. Mahmoud's wife has unfortunately had no treatment or medication for her chronic condition for the last year at least making it go from bad to worse.

Mahmoud has lost every source of income because of the war leaving him with the unfathomable burden of many hungry mouths under his custody. Each day is a struggle just to find food, medicine, and a safe place to stay. They have been forced to flee multiple times, carrying with them whatever their hands can hold, never knowing if they will have shelter for the night. They were forced to sleep on the streets in so many occasions and if they are lucky, in a plastic tent that does not shelter them from any cold or heat.

This fundraiser is Mahmoud’s only lifeline. Without our help, his family will continue to face hunger, sickness, and unimaginable hardship.
