Hello, my name is Mahmoud Hanouna, and I’m from Northern Gaza. In October, I suffered a severe injury to my left foot, which resulted in a torn tendon. This injury has left me unable to walk properly and has prevented me from evacuating with my family to safety in southern Gaza. I am raising funds to cover the cost of traveling outside of Gaza for the necessary medical treatment that I urgently need to recover.

Why is this cause important to me?

This cause is crucial to me because my injury has drastically altered my life, leaving me unable to walk and without access to the care I desperately need. In Northern Gaza, there is an extreme shortage of medical resources, food, and clean water, which has made it impossible for me to heal properly. My father and I are struggling to survive in a region facing severe famine and deplorable living conditions. On top of that, our home was destroyed in a bombing, forcing us into a place unfit for human habitation. The loss of my livelihood and my car, which was vital for my income, has only added to the hardship. Receiving proper medical treatment is my only hope for recovery and a return to a normal life.

How will the funds be used?

The funds I raise will be used primarily to cover the costs of medical treatment, including surgery, rehabilitation, and any necessary medications. They will also be used for travel expenses, including transportation out of Gaza, and to secure a safe place to stay while I receive treatment. Any remaining funds will be used to support my father and me during this difficult time, ensuring we have access to basic necessities like food, water, and shelter.

How will I receive the funds?

The funds will be transferred to a secure account in Germany, owned by a trusted friend of the family. He will manage the funds until I reach my goal and am ready to evacuate from Gaza to receive the necessary medical treatment. This arrangement ensures that the funds are handled responsibly and will be available to cover all costs associated with my evacuation, travel, and treatment.
