Help Gaza-based artist Mahmoud Al Haj cover his living expenses for his upcoming residencies in the Netherlands and Italy!
Mahmoud was recently awarded a three-month residency at the Royal Academy of Art Hague in the Netherlands starting August 28, 2021, and a one-month residency at the Spanish Royal Academy in Rome this November.
While the residencies will cover the cost of the visa, travel, and housing Mahmoud needs funds to support living expenses while there. Help Mahmoud offset out-of-pocket costs by making a gift today. Your donations will be transferred from the U.S. to Hope Foundation Netherlands who is supporting his visa process and will disperse the funds to him. Our goal is to raise $3,500 by August 15, 2021.

About Mahmoud: Mahmoud Al Haj is a Palestinian visual artist and art teacher. Al Haj received a BA in Journalism and Media from Al-Aqsa University (2012) and has been a visual arts teacher at the Palestine Red Crescent Society since 2017. In 2019, he collaborated with Dutch artist Suzanne Groothuis on a land art workshop titled “Intimate Terrains” for the Palestine Museum. He has exhibited widely in Palestine, Europe and the United States. Recent exhibitions include Art in isolation at the Middle East Institute in Washington DC (2020), Within the Vacum at Shababek for Contemporary Art, Palestine (2019), Contemplative Contrasts at the A.M.
