My name is Mahmoud, from Gaza.

I work as a rescuer and paramedic in Civil Defense. Since the beginning of this brutal war, I go out every day into the ruins—running between destroyed homes, carrying the bodies of martyred children, treating the wounded with my bare hands. I smell blood and smoke every morning instead of life.

But despite all I give to others… I couldn’t save my own home, or protect my family.

One day, during the bombing, our house was completely destroyed. In a moment, everything we owned was turned to rubble. We escaped with only our lives, while our shelter, memories, and warmth were buried beneath the wreckage.

Now, we have no roof, no door to keep out the fear or cold. And I stand helpless—rescuing others, but broken before my own family.

We live with no income, no shelter, and not even the basics to survive. Still, I go out every morning to save those who remain.

But my heart cries out… Who will save me? Who will help my family? Who will help us rebuild our shattered home?
