Hello friends, my name is Akram Hassan, and I am from the northern Gaza Strip. I am writing these words to share a part of our daily suffering, hoping to find compassion and support from those who read my story.

We are a small family of four: my mother, my father, myself — the eldest at 24 years old — and my younger sister, who is 17.

I am married and have one young son, while I lost my other son in the war — he was a piece of my heart, and his loss left a pain that will never fade.

We once lived a simple but warm and loving life, until the war brought destruction to our home and shattered our dreams.

One night, as we tried to sleep amidst the constant sounds of bombing, a massive explosion shook our neighborhood. The house trembled around us, and when the dust settled, we realized our home had turned into a pile of rubble. What was once our safe haven became just a memory. With no other choice, we joined hundreds of families who had also lost everything, searching for safety in the streets.

We moved from one school to another, hoping to find shelter. The classrooms were overcrowded with families who, like us, had lost their homes. The conditions were harsh, the cold was unbearable, and resources were scarce—barely enough to keep us alive. After weeks of displacement and homelessness, we finally found temporary refuge with a family friend who kindly took us in. Although they welcomed us warmly, life remains difficult — the space is small, and their limited means can barely sustain us all.

I created this link in hopes of receiving your support to help us secure food, water, and other basic necessities that are now out of reach. The war has taken our peace and comfort, but it has not destroyed the simple hope that kindness still lives in people’s hearts. ❤️
