Help Mahina Kaupiko and ʻOhana Through This Battle
Donation protected
Aloha friends and ʻohana,
I write to you with a humble heart on behalf of my brother, Mahina Kaupiko—a devoted father of four, our beloved kahu at Hauʻoli Kamanaʻo Church in Miloliʻi, and a tireless worker for both his ʻohana and our community.
We are asking for your kōkua (help) as Mahina bravely battles brain cancer.
As many of you know, Mahina is a fighter. He has been the sole driver of his family’s business, Hawaiian Rolloff Services, and has always shown up with strength and heart to serve others. He and his ʻohana would never ask for help on their own—but their world has been turned upside down, and I’m reaching out on their behalf.
In March, Mahina went to the ER in Kona with an intense headache. Later that day, he was told he had a mass on his brain and was urgently flown to Oʻahu for emergency surgery. The mass was later diagnosed as a high-grade glioma tumor—an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Since then, it has been a difficult journey—filled with highs and lows. Mahina has been facing major side effects including changes to his vision, speech, mobility, and a recent infection. Through it all, his family has remained by his side, caring for him with deep love and faith.
He is now preparing for six weeks of radiation and chemotherapy.
His wife, Mel—our Mama Kahu and his unwavering rock—has become his full-time caregiver. She is managing the weight of medical decisions, caregiving, household needs, and their four keiki with grace and courage. We know that Ke Akua is our ultimate healer and provider, and we continue to trust in His promises.
We are asking for any financial kōkua to help with medical expenses, travel, and family care needs during this time. Most of all, we ask for your continued prayers and love as we stand in faith for Mahina’s full healing.
From our hearts, mahalo nui loa for walking with us during this time. Every prayer, every gift, every kind word means the world.
E mālama ʻia ʻoe e ke Akua. May God bless you.
With aloha,
Kaimi Kaupiko
