Hello! My name is Mahibah Rahman, and I’m a 17-year-old Bengali-American. I was recently admitted to NYU Abu Dhabi, one of the top universities in the UAE, known for its diverse student body and faculty from around the world.

While NYU Abu Dhabi is my most affordable option in comparison to the charge of other colleges I’ve been accepted to, I would be unable to attend due to the financial strain that it would put on my family. In the 2026–2027 academic year, my older brother, older sister, and I will all be in college simultaneously, and in 2027–2028, my older sister, my twin brother, and I will all be undergraduates. Through this GoFundMe, I hope to raise money to be able to fund my college education and work towards my future goals.

I’m drawn to and applied as a civil engineering major. One of my hopes through pursuing this career path is to support under-resourced communities. At NYU Abu Dhabi, I plan to engage in various engineering projects and opportunities, including Engineers for Social Impact, which would allow me to directly work with different communities, understand their needs, propose solutions, and use skills I learn in the classroom to build them.
