In the heart of India, Maharashtra a land of resilient farmers, bustling cities, and vibrant communities is reeling from one of the most devastating natural calamities in recent memory. Torrential rains from late September into early October have unleashed unprecedented floods across regions like Marathwada, Konkan, Central Maharashtra, Solapur, Dharashiv, Jalna, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. What began as a much-needed monsoon has turned into a catastrophe, claiming at least 11 precious lives, displacing over 41,000 families, and submerging vast swathes of farmland under muddy waters.
