Dear friends and well-wishers of Mahadeva Swamy and his family,

 

As many might be aware by now, Mahadeva Swamy and his family of four (including kids aged 7 and 11) met with a serious road accident in South Florida on February 12th leaving them critically injured with life-threatening injuries and also causing the untimely demise of their 7-year-old son.

 

Mahadeva Swamy was returning home with his family after a fun weekend trip when an oncoming vehicle lost control and collided head-on with his car resulting in this devastating tragedy for the family.

After several medical procedures, Mahadeva Swamy, his wife, and their 11-year-old daughter have regained consciousness but are still hospitalized and undergoing further treatment. Their long road to recovery includes prolonged, intense physical therapy and grief counseling as they piece their lives back together towards some semblance of normalcy.

 

In their current state, we estimate that it would take about two months for the family to be discharged from the hospital and another three months before he can return to work. As friends and well-wishers, we are playing our part in easing their pain and burden in several ways and will continue to do so.

 

One way community members, both near and far, can make an immediate impact is by helping them offset their financial burden as bills can pile up quickly despite having insurance. In light of this, we appeal to the goodness of the community at large to donate generously. No amount is too small. All donations received through gofundme will go directly towards medical, legal, funeral, long-term care, and other expenses for the family typically not covered by insurance.
