السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
Mahad is a 34-year-old man from Somalia who is currently hospitalised and in urgent need of life-saving treatment. He is battling multiple serious, long-term health conditions that cannot be properly treated in Somalia due to the severe lack of medical resources.
Since childhood, Mahad has lived with Type 1 diabetes, and over the years, it has led to several life-threatening complications. His kidneys have failed, and dialysis is no longer working effectively. He now urgently needs a kidney transplant, which is not available in Somalia. His body is no longer tolerating ongoing dialysis, putting him at extreme risk of sudden deterioration or death. Due to diabetic gangrene, Mahad had to have his left leg amputated above the knee, leaving him immobile. He now requires a custom prosthetic leg and rehabilitation, neither of which can be accessed locally. On top of this, diabetes has severely damaged his eyesight, making it difficult for him to see clearly. High blood pressure and other complications continue to worsen his overall condition.
Mahad’s health is rapidly declining, and time is running out. He urgently needs to be transferred overseas for a kidney transplant, prosthetic leg, eye treatment, and proper post-operative care—all of which are unavailable in Somalia. We are raising £40,000 to cover the full cost of his treatment and support.
Your donation will help cover vital needs such as transplant surgery, custom prosthetic and rehabilitation, ongoing dialysis and medications, sight-saving eye treatment, current hospital bills, passport and visa fees for Mahad and his caregiver, travel and accommodation costs abroad, basic living expenses during recovery, caregiver support, and an emergency buffer for unforeseen expenses.
You can help by donating whatever you can—no amount is too small. Please also share this campaign with others and keep Mahad in your prayers.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever relieves a believer’s distress of the distressful aspects of this world, Allah will rescue him from a difficulty of the difficulties of the Hereafter… And Allah will help the servant as long as the servant is helping his brother.”
Mahad is a kind, humble man who has fought hard through pain, loss, and limited support. With your help, he can finally access the treatment he needs and regain some quality of life, mobility, and dignity. With the will of Allah and your generosity, we can give Mahad a fighting chance at life.
