Help Maha and Her Children Escape Gaza

My name is Silas and I am from Seattle, Washington. I created this campaign to raise money to help my friend Maha and her children survive the war in Gaza. All funds will be transferred to Maha and her family to help with food and shelter and travel expenses.

Maha is raising money to escape the destruction in Gaza and take her children to a safer place. This is her story:

My name is Maha Mazen. I am a mother in Gaza raising my two beautiful children: Mira, 8 years old, and Adam, 6 years old. We live in a tent. Before the genocide began I was working in online translation, but the income wasn’t enough to pay bills and I was struggling even then. Now things are much worse. We have been told many times to evacuate or move to a different area, but this is extremely difficult and expensive to do. We have been forcibly displaced 5 times. We have slept on the road for more than 700 days in wintertime, without toilets, without food, without electricity, without winter clothes, and without medicine. My children have been ill many times over the last two years with skin infections. They have also had great difficulty reaching educational centers. When the bombing and displacement began they were only 4 and 6 years old, but now they have gone two years of their childhood without basic necessities or the good health and education every child deserves.

Of course this story is not just true for my family...here in Gaza we all have the same story, with the same details. We are all homeless, starving, and sick. I want my children to be safe and to no longer suffer from repeated displacements, so I asked my friends to help me create a Go Fund Me to raise $50,000 in donations to travel outside Gaza and take my children to safety.

As only Maha I don’t think I have any opportunity to raise this amount of money, but as a mom to my 2 kids I can’t give up and I’ll keep trying everything to keep them alive and safe. There is a beautiful life waiting for us outside of Gaza. A life without wars, bombs or explosive sounds. There is hope, stability and education. There is home, housing and security.
