Help Magnus Attend AfroTech

I’m asking for help in attending a tech conference that has the capacity to change my life.
Under 5% of software engineers are black. Next year, I’ll be the only black student at my university to walk across the stage with a computer science degree. To me, my success means changing perceptions and opening doors for those who will come after me.
AfroTech is one of those door-openers. It’s a unique conference where people of diverse backgrounds can connect, network, and be seen for what they bring to the table. I aspire to bring my experience in machine learning and passion for data analysis to an internship this summer, and in a tough job market that requires connecting with the people making those decisions.
As a self-supporting student, finance is a barrier, but I don’t want to let it define my opportunities. With your support, I can attend AfroTech and be considered for opportunities by people who are excited about my own success.
If you have the capacity to contribute, I would greatly appreciate any support toward my dream. Thank you for helping me—and those I hope to inspire—take one step closer to a future where diversity in tech is the norm, not the exception.
The goal I’ve set is $750, which will cover the hotel and event admission.
