Meet my rockstar and super powerful mom, mi "chica poderosa", Maglenys Lugo!

My name is Lorena Abarca, and I have been blessed with one of the most beautiful, amazing mothers a child could ever ask for.

Side note: I never would have imagined I’d write something like this, but here I am...

In October, my family's lives changed completely when we rushed our mother to the hospital, and walked out with a diagnosis that read NHFL, Non-Hodgkin Follicular Lymphoma. This is a type of blood cancer that affects white blood cells, which are an important part of your immune system.

There is this weird dizzy spell and shake that runs through your body when you hear “we have cancer." I say "WE" because when something like this happens there’s no “I”, there’s only "us"! Since that day I've had this non-stop feeling of responsibility, but also determination. I promised her that she was a very special woman, and that she WILL reach heights she would have never imagined possible.

Since her diagnosis, we have been in and out of hospitals. Meeting with western medicine doctors, nutritionists, and holistic practitioners alike! We are trying everything possible to help our mother. I am confident that we will win in this fight against cancer, and I hope that you can help us on this journey!
