Magick is a 13-year-old cat who has brought so much love and comfort to our family in just two years. We adopted him after losing
another special cat, Raggy (Ragnarok), and I truly believe Raggy knew that Magick needed someone to care for him—and that I needed someone to care for, too. It felt like Raggy sent Magick to us, because otherwise he might have been discarded, as his previous owner told us. When I arrived at the woman’s home, Magick came running over and jumped into my arms, and we shared an instant, deep connection. From that moment, Magick has shown us endless affection and trust. His previous owner didn’t share the full extent of his medical needs, but we quickly learned that he faces a long list of health challenges. Despite everything, Magick remains the most loving and gentle companion. He adores belly rubs, especially when he rolls over and puts his feet in the air, and he never misses a chance for 'brushy time' with his favorite pink brush. His cobalt blue eyes are truly magical, and his playful spirit shines through even on his toughest days.
Magick’s medical journey has been overwhelming. He’s been hospitalized multiple times, undergone PU surgery to help with his bladder issues, and now needs to see a specialist for new heart and lung concerns. He also battles asthma, pancreatitis, and ongoing gastrointestinal problems. The costs of his care have added up quickly, and we’re now facing weekly vet visits, specialist appointments, and the possibility of more surgery. We do as much of his medical care at home as possible, always under our vet’s guidance, to help manage costs, but the financial strain has become too much for us to handle alone.
We’re reaching out for help so Magick can continue to receive the care he needs. Every contribution will go directly toward his medical bills, specialist visits, and ongoing treatments. Magick means the world to us, and your support will help give him the best chance at a happy, healthy life. Thank you for reading his story and for any help you can offer.
Here you can see the size of his bladder… he has had P/U surgery in March, but the Dr.s want to do additional bladder and possible heart surgery. But first he needs extensive tests - echocardiogram to start. He was just released from the emergency hospital (shown) due to a kidney infection that was caused by his faulty bladder and heart. :( As of right now he is resting and recovering at home. Next steps to come…

Hi everyone,
We just got back from another wellness check, and I wanted to share where things stand with our sweet boy Magick.
✨ The vet confirmed that Magick’s heart is enlarged, which explains some of the recent changes in his breathing and energy. The most recent X-ray also showed a small amount of fluid in the lungs, though slightly less than last time — so that’s a small step in the right direction.
He’s now on two antibiotics and a heart medication, which we’ll continue for one week. Sub-q fluids have been discontinued because of the added strain they can place on his heart.
His breathing has slightly improved, and he’s still eating and drinking — which we’re taking as a win. He’s hanging in there and we’re continuing to support him with all the love and care possible.
His next X-ray is scheduled for next week, and depending on those results, we’ll be moving forward with an echocardiogram to better understand how his heart is functioning and how we can best support him long-term.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us through this. Every donation, every share, every kind word—it’s keeping him going and keeping us hopeful. I’ll continue to post updates as we learn more.
With love and gratitude,
Christine & Magick
