Maggies herb farm has been a pesticide free plant business along the st johns river open to the public for 35 years. We grow/sell natural culinary herbs, butterfly hummingbird food plants, survival food plants, medicinal herbs and fruit trees. Our grounds are planted as a certified wildlife habitat and everyone that visits us can tell! We have hundreds of butterflys in all stages for all visitors to enjoy as well as hummingbirds, 30 free range chickens, a rescue talking parrot ( who dances for visitors) and dog walking area for the public. We have visitors come from miles away in search of unusual plants and are always pleased to find so much more!
We also offer classes on using medicial herbs, growing herbs, soap making, kombucha brewing, garden walk and taste tours, yoga classes, herbal animal care and more. The wildlife and all visitors from all over will benefit by our farm staying open!
Huricane Irma changed everything! We had major winds destroy the beautiful habitat ripping huge trees down on plumbing, greenhouse roof ripped off, flooded grounds and it shorted out our septic system. It destroyed all most all of the small plants growing in green house and we are now facing expensive repairs everywhere on the grounds. Some of the repairs we need to continue include aproximately:
Green house roof material $1500
labor (4 men) $500-$700
Greenhouse 80 ft sides material , labor $ 800-$1000
Greenhouse guttering, stainless screws $ 400
Septic pump, fittings and labor $200
Broken plant benches wire, wood, labor $500-600
Replant butterfly habitat plants and labor $300
Dig up replace broken plumbing lines $300-500
Lost dead/destroyed plants $2500-3000
This support will not only help provide rebuilding of a natural habitat, a business, an education place, but a sanctuary for all who visits there! May it be here for many years to come for everyone to enjoy. Thank you from everyone who loves Maggies Herb Farm !!!
