Update 8/20

Maggie has completed several trial breathings and all have been successful she will be extubated today after the doctors round!!!

We still have a long road as we will still need therapys but our girl is making huge strides!!!!

8/16 update

Another update on Magnolia.

Maggie has undergone surgery this morning to have her cannulas removed. Sweet girl is out of surgery and doing good! Still sedated to keep her calm while she starts weening off of her vent. We're all very joyful as she's on the highway to recovery!

8/15 update

Maggie Jean is off of ECMO and initating her own breaths!

We are clamping off the ecmo lines today. Lines will remain in place just incase we need access again. The plan is to take her to surgery tomorrow morning at 0900 to DC the lines and repair her vessels. Chest x ray has improved. Backed off the breathing treatments. They have slightly weaned her sedation but will not do that fully until we are off of the ventilator.

**Update 8/14 VIA Mommy**

Stable overnight. She is much more alert and a little agitated so they did start her on Seroquel and then gave her a dose of Ativan this morning. Our ejection fraction Monday was 36% and today we are 56%, praise God. Lungs sound a little bit better today so the Albuterol treatments and steroids are working well. Unchanged chest xray, and yesterday’s was ok. We are leaving the vent settings the same. We are going to work on weaning her ECMO over the next couple of days Going to take her off the neuro telemetry due to no seizures.

**UPDATE 8/13. VIA Mommy***

Maggie got a dose of lasix that was successful no dialysis !

Maggie has been great all night restless but making improvements her platelets are where they want them and she had a positive reaction to the dialysis. She is being fisty and kicking off the blankets when they put them on her and kicking the pillow out from under her feet. Lung x Ray Is a little cloudyier than yesterday but they advised it was to be expected she is getting alot of gunk suctioned out of her mouth. We're doing well this morning.

***UPDATE 8/12 VIA Daddy*****

Little update on Magnolia this afternoon,

After taking her off of her paralytic medication, Maggie has started to make movements of her own. Pulling her legs up, making fists, moving her head around on her own etc.. She opened her eyes a few times and had a scared expression on her face so we know she's coming around at an extremely good rate. Thank you everyone for prayers! Still a long road ahead of us, but, God is so good!

On Saturday, August 10th, our dear little Maggie was involved in a terrible accident. She was LifeLined to Riley Hospital in Indy and is still there on ECMO, which is a type of life support to let her little lungs and heart rest and heal.

Ashley and Jake, her parents, do have insurance but not the best, and will both be off work for an unknown amount of time as of now, and understandably so. If anyone could help this family in their time of need for hospital bills, helicopter bill, and regular bills. Anything to take the stress off this mommy and daddy will be an unbelievable blessing at this time and so gratefully appreciated!
