Help Maggie with Emergency Expenses

Hello! My name is Ilsa, and I'm fortunate enough to have the lovely Maggie Guzman as a close friend. Her sister, Annie, and I are creating this GoFundMe to try to help alleviate some of the burdens Maggie is currently dealing with. Maggie is such a wonderful human - she is always there for her family, her friends, her students (she's a 5th-grade teacher), and really anyone who needs it. It's our turn to be there for her!

 

On January 12, Maggie fell from a ladder and woke up several minutes later very dazed and confused and with a gash on her chin and a number of bad bruises. She went to the hospital for stitches and confirmed she had a pretty bad concussion. After over 6 weeks of trying to recover, symptoms persist. She wound up back in the hospital on February 28th with what looked seemed stroke symptoms. Luckily, it turned out to not be a stroke, but rather a stress/overstimulation response in her brain called Conversion Syndrome. All of these hospital visits and the related PT have been adding up, even after insurance. They currently total $2,000 but may grow due to the recent visit on 2/28.

 

On top of dealing with all of this, in a time where more stress was the absolute last thing her body needed, she learned that her house in Sanford needs a new heating system immediately. The estimate for this so far is $12,000.

 

It pains me to see someone who does so much for their community dealing with all of this at once, and we'd love your support in easing this burden for someone so deserving.
