Help Maggie Join Main Beach Volleyball Club Team

Hi Friends and Family,

As some of you may know, I have been playing volleyball since 7th grade and many of you have been to my games to support me. I have always had an interest in volleyball ever since I was little, and I have always taken every opportunity to play and practice. Playing volleyball for the last few years has helped me step outside of my comfort zone and make new friends all while playing a sport I love.

This summer, I have done multiple beach and indoor volleyball camps such as the Nike volleyball camp at UCSC, Santa Cruz Beach Volleyball, and the Main Beach volleyball camp at Cabrillo College. While doing the Main Beach volleyball camp, I was noticed by the coaches and was told that I should try out for the Main Beach Club team. I was out of town when tryouts happened but I was so excited to find out I was offered a spot on the Main Beach Volleyball 16’s league team without having to try out based on what the coaches saw at the camp. It is a super competitive club team to get a spot on, many other people from my school and my old teams tried out and didn't make the team. I feel so lucky to have been chosen for this team.

At my school, volleyball is very competitive and I have been offered this opportunity to be coached at a higher level so that I have a better chance at making JV or Varsity when I am a junior. The head coach at Harbor High, Matt, has coached me before and he is encouraging me to take this next step in developing my skills to be ready to play volleyball more competitively.

So, I am fundraising to ask for your support to be able to be a part of this advanced club team. I am also planning on having a yard sale, babysitting, dog walking, and anything else I can do to help pay for this club. Anything you can give helps and I am so grateful to be given this opportunity and to have such a wonderful, supportive family.
