Help Maggie Fight Glioblastoma

Donation protected
Our beautiful friend, Maggie—a faithful and devoted wife, mother, and friend—was recently diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rare, late-stage, and extremely aggressive brain cancer. Maggie has always been a light to everyone around her, and now she needs our support, love, and prayers more than ever.

On October 18, Maggie began experiencing severe headaches after a week of feeling unwell, leading her husband, Arlee, to take her to the ER. A CT scan revealed a 6cm mass pressing on her brain. She was immediately admitted to the hospital for further testing, and a biopsy performed on October 22 brought the devastating news: Maggie has glioblastoma.

On October 30, Maggie underwent a five-hour surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. The surgery went well, and she spent 48 hours in a dark room to recover. Maggie has been remarkably resilient through the post-procedure pain, and after 15 challenging days in the hospital, she returned home on November 2. Her treatment plan includes six weeks of intensive chemotherapy and radiation, with 30 rounds of radiation ahead.

As Maggie and her family begin this journey, they face mounting medical expenses. We hope to relieve as much financial burden as we can for the Butterfield family as they navigate this difficult time. Any amount you can contribute will go directly toward covering Maggie's biopsy and hospitalization, as well as her upcoming chemotherapy and radiation treatments. This is the beginning of a long, hard road, and the Butterfields truly need your support.

Last September, Maggie and Arlee made the faithful decision to move their family to Cincinnati to serve as Family and Marrieds Ministers. Together with their three daughters, Madelynne (16), Maylee (13), and Abigail (8), they have poured their hearts into serving our church family, bringing love and guidance to young families, students, and young professionals. Maggie’s warmth, joy, and friendship have blessed everyone who knows her.

Alongside Maggie’s diagnosis, the Butterfields face additional challenges: Maggie’s sister, Katie, is also battling stage 4 cancer, and Arlee’s sister, Christy, has been hospitalized with cancer for several weeks. The Butterfields are leaning on God and the love of people like you to get through this time.

Please consider donating and sharing this page to help us support Maggie. We ask for your prayers for Maggie and her family. They feel your love and are deeply grateful for your support in this fight.
