As many of you know, Maggie and Chloe have lost absolutely everything, that is "not important" to them. Maggie is a woman of deep faith and is of the opinion that yesterday was "the luckiest day of her life." If this fire had happened at 2am rather than 2pm, then we would be dealing with a very different situation. Thankfully, she had just entered the house not knowing that the blaze had started to take hold, with only time to save her little dog Stella. Chloe was not home at the time. A terrifying and traumatic experience that she is handling with utter grace and humility. Maggie is so very grateful and humbled by the outpouring of concern, well wishes, and eagerness to help from our neighborhood. So I am setting up this GoFundMe account for anyone who wishes to make a contribution. The coming days, weeks, and months will be a trying and tough time for Maggie and particularly young Chloe, and they need our thoughts and prayers now more than anything else. So, if you can, contribute to this fund; if you pray, please do so for them; and if you love, love your family and friends, and let's all take a moment to be grateful that this story will have a happy end. Not today or tomorrow, but soon.
Now would also be a good time to check you smoke alarms.
