Let’s Help Maggie and Austin Start Over
A few days ago, our friend and classmate Maggie Cordaro and her son Austin lost everything in an apartment fire in LeRoy, NY.
They made it out safely, but everything else—clothes, furniture, personal items—was either destroyed or damaged beyond use. Right now, they’re staying in a hotel with just a mini fridge. No microwave, no kitchen, and no place to store anything. It’s not home; it’s just survival.
Maggie works full-time as a legal secretary for Wyoming County and also works part-time at Walmart. Austin, her son, is a senior graduating this June, and he works at Walmart too. They’re doing everything they can to stay afloat, but this kind of loss is overwhelming.
That’s why we, the LeRoy Class of 1994, are coming together to help our friend and classmate. Maggie has always been kind, hardworking, and humble, and while she’d never ask for help herself, we want her to feel the support of the people who care about her.
Donations will help them cover temporary housing, replace essentials, and support Austin through his graduation and next steps.
Every bit helps. If you can give, thank you so much. And if not, please consider sharing this link to help spread the word.
With gratitude,
LeRoy Class of ’94
