Help a Teacher Through Tragic Family Loss
Donation protected
A dear colleague and beloved teacher at our dual immersion elementary school needs your help. Maestra Alma Luna, who is currently a 1st grade teacher, suddenly faced an emergency when her parents and brother were in a car accident this week. Maestra Luna’s father did not survive and her mother and brother were seriously injured.
All funds donated will go towards expenses for funeral services for her dad and medical care for her mom and brother. It may also help replace any income lost from Maestra’s inability to teach in the coming weeks so she can attend to her family.
Maestra Luna is a generous, loving and hard working soul. We hope the universe will help take care of her during this time of great need. We thank you for supporting her! Below is a note from her family:
---------------------------------------------------
The Luna family is a family of six. Our father, Pedro, was a loving father of five children, two of which are still minors and attending their classes.
On the morning of September 11th, Pedro Luna, our dad, was tragically involved in a car accident while on his way to work in the fields near Gridley, CA. In the car with him was our mom and our brother. Our dad lost his life, and our mom sustained major injuries, leaving her in critical condition in the ICU. She has sustained multiple broken bones in both legs but she has undergone surgery. Our brother also suffered injuries and has undergone surgery for his broken leg. Both of them will need physical therapy in order to have a good recovery.
Our family is now in urgent need of financial support to cover funeral costs, medical expenses, and household needs. The two oldest siblings now face the enormous responsibility of caring for our mother and brother in the hospital while also caring for our two younger siblings who are still school age.
Thank you for your support and generosity. Please share this message to reach others who might be able to help.
