Help Maelani Get the Liver Transplant She Desperately Needs.
Donation protected
Hi friends, family, and kind strangers,
My name is Charlene and I’m reaching out with a mother’s heart, full of hope and urgency, to ask for your support for my incredible daughter, Maelani Harrell.
Maelani is 24 years old — a quiet soul, an extraordinary artist, and someone who has always seen the world a little differently, a little more beautifully, than most. She’s the kind of person who expresses her heart not through words, but through colors, sketches, and intricate designs that speak volumes about her gentle spirit. She's always been shy, keeping to herself, yet she has a light that quietly shines for anyone who gets the privilege of knowing her.
Over the past 18 months, that light has been dimmed by an unexpected and painful battle.
What began as a manageable diagnosis — Budd-Chiari Syndrome, a rare liver condition — quickly turned into a life-threatening crisis. What is often treated with relatively routine procedures turned complicated, fast. Despite multiple medical interventions, her condition has worsened, leaving no viable path forward except for a liver transplant.
Just recently, Maelani was officially placed on the transplant list. While this brings hope, it also brings a heavy burden — mounting medical expenses, ongoing treatments, traveling to specialists, and everyday bills that continue to pile up as she focuses on simply surviving and healing.
We are humbly asking for your help. Our goal is to raise $100,000 to cover the costs associated with Maelani’s care:
Pre- and post-transplant medical expenses
Prescription medications and therapies
Transportation to and from transplant centers
Temporary housing when relocation is needed for care
Living expenses during this long and uncertain journey
If you’ve ever been touched by art, by the quiet kindness of someone who sees the world a little differently — I ask you to please consider donating to Maelani’s GoFundMe. Every dollar, every share, every prayer brings us closer to hope and healing.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for loving and lifting up our sweet girl. She deserves a future full of vibrant color, joy, and life. Let’s help her get there.
With gratitude and love,
Charlene
