Help Mae and Asher Rebuild After Eaton Fire

Last night, my sister, Mae, and her husband, Asher, lost their home and nearly all of their belongings in the Eaton Fire in Altadena. With only 15 minutes to evacuate, they were able to take what fit in their car, leaving behind the rest. Fortunately they are both safe along with their beloved pets, Juno and Luna. However, they are now facing the daunting task of rebuilding their lives from the ground up.

In addition to the immense emotional toll of losing irreplaceable treasures, they will need to replace essentials like clothing, furniture, kitchenware, and all the everyday items we often take for granted. While they are fortunate to have fire insurance, it will not cover the full cost of the long recovery ahead. In particular, it will likely not cover the cost of the contents of the home including all of their personal belongings.

Many people have asked how they can help, and anything you can contribute—whether big or small—will be deeply appreciated as they navigate this incredibly challenging time. Most importantly, if you can please share this with your community and on your social media, so that generous strangers can offer their support too.

Mae and Asher will use any funds raised to begin the process of rebuilding their lives. This could include paying for a place to stay while they figure out what to do, buying clothing and other basics, meeting the needs of their pets during this difficult time, and overall beginning the process of rebuilding their life.
