This is Mae… I’m a trans woman seeking financial support as I approach my twenty-seventh birthday on October 30th…

I am trying to raise funds for laser hair removal… This has been a goal of mine for quite some time now…

As some of you are aware, I am a very hairy person… While I enjoy parts of having a hairy body, I have often found myself feeling dysphoric over my face, chest, and other parts where lots of hair is present… This dysphoria has sent me into depressive episodes sometimes lasting for weeks on end…

Aside from the gender-affirming results and euphoria these sessions would grant me, it would make navigating public life much safer, as I am often clocked and frequently put into uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous situations with transphobic aggressors…

Laser is something I’ve wanted to pursue for a decade now, but has become more pressing over the past five years since coming out and taking steps toward changing my presentation… However, it can be very expensive as it is not covered under my health insurance for being cosmetic…

Over the past few years, I’ve experienced many highs and extreme lows in my transition journey… Beginning HRT has been huge for me… Laser is just one of many procedures I wish to undergo in the near future, and it would mean so much to me to receive financial support in this endeavor…

The pandemic, like many I know, wrecked my finances, and I recently spent every penny I had to escape a toxic housing situation in New Orleans… I am currently residing in Kentucky with my partner, Elysian, where I hope to have this done… It has been tough getting adjusted without funds and a close-knit community like I was accustomed to back home…

The funds here will go directly towards an eight-session laser hair removal package that will span over sixteen months…
